Junior Committee Representative

Jordan is stepping down as the junior representative to the committee.  We would like to thank Jordan for his support over the last year.

So guys, who wants to tell the committee what all you juniors are thinking and more importantly what you want to happen or need.

Let us know if anyone wants the job.

Junior Badge Scheme

The newly up marketed Archery GB Progress Awards are designed to provide beginners and younger archers with awards for developing their archery skills. The junior age groups are aligned with 5 educational key stages.

Winnington Park Bowmen registered for this scheme in July 2014.  We want to encourage all our junior members to take part and to gain badges.  The badges are White, Black, Blue, red and Gold as on a target face.

To win a badge juniors have to shoot 36 arrows at a distance and to equal or exceed a set score for his or her age group.

Cheshire under 12 recurve Champion 2015

Well done AP

Junior Champion

Alice Phipps, 11, shot at the Cheshire Junior Indoor Championships on 15th February. 48 archers from all over the county converged to Goldcrest Archers venue in Hyde, North Cheshire to shoot a Portsmouth round (5 dozen arrows shot at a 60cm face from 20 yards). Alice triumphed in the under 12 recurve catagory beating her nearest rival by 28 points. She shot 467 which was also a new club record. Alice has only been shooting for 12 months and this is proof of what practice and listening to your coach can do for your archery score!!
